The NeurotechEU alliance has held its sixth Board of Rectors Meeting at the University of Lille

This week the sixth Board of Rectors Meeting of the European University of Brain and Technology (NeurotechEU) was held.  A project that, from the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, is led by the professor of Physiology and researcher at the Institute for Neurosciences UMH-CSIC Juana Gallar. The objective of this meeting, which took place at the University of Lille (France), is to launch the second phase of NeurotechEU, whose purpose is to create an inter-university campus in which education is linked to research, innovation, and society. 

The Council of Rectors of the European University of Brain and Technology meets twice a year and in this sixth meeting, in addition to reflecting on the first stage of this alliance to identify new challenges and needs, working groups have been developed in order to successfully achieve all the objectives of the next stage. Besides, synergies have been established between all partners, and the new visual identity of the NeurotechEU alliance has been presented.

In addition to the rector of the UMH, Juan José Ruiz, Juana Gallar also took part in the meeting.  Also attended the researcher from the Institute for Neurosciences Santiago Canals; the vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Vicente Micol; the director of the International Relations Service, Inmaculada Blaya; the project manager, María José Such; the representative of UMH students, Sandra Manzanero; the journalist from the UMH Communication Service Jùlia Santacreu; and the press officer at the Institute for Neurosciences, Elena Garrido.

NeurotechEU is an alliance funded by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Union and the Ministry of Universities of the Spanish Government. Likewise, from the UMH, the initiative is led by researchers from the Institute of Neurosciences and brings together professors and researchers from the areas of neuroscience, technology, and technical staff from the International Relations Service and the Vice-Rectorate of Internationalization and Cooperation of the UMH.

In addition to UMH, partner universities are Radboud Universiteit (Netherlands), Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Univeristät Bonn (Germany), Boğaziçi Üniversitesi (Turkey), Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie din Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Université de Lille (France), and Háskólinn í Reykjavík (Reykjavik).
