Carlos Belmonte granted Honorary Doctorate by the Cartilla la Mancha University

Carlos Belmonte, Professor of Human Physiology at the UMH and researcher at the Neuroscience Institute, UMH-CSIC, was granted an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Castilla- La Mancha (UCLM) in Albacete(Spain) on Monday December, 12th. Prof. Belmonte is tightly related to this university as he was member of the advisory board for the creation of its School of Medicine. He is, in fact, the first Doctor Honoris Causa granted by the ULCM . Among many other distinctions, Carlos Belmonte has been awarded with the King Jaime I Research Prize (1992); National Prize “Chair Severo Ochoa “ of Biology and Biomedicine(1995) and holds the National Prize of Investigation in Medicine “Gregorio Marañón” (2008). In 2011 has been awarded with the European Vision Award and was re-elected as President of the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO).
