2005-present. The Chair sponsors the cycle of dissemination of conferences-debate entitled "Brain and Society" organized annually during World Brain Week by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and the Institute of Neurosciences.
2006. The “Remedios Caro Almela” Prize for Research in Developmental Neurobiology was established with the aim of recognizing European researchers who have contributed to the current knowledge of how neural networks emerge and how the brain is formed and sculpted during the first stages of our life. This award has become the most prestigious European award in this field of research.
2011. The Institute of Neurosciences awarded Mr. Fernando Martínez Ramos its highest distinction, the IN Gold Medal. Unfortunately, Mr. Fernando Martínez Ramos passed away shortly after and his descendant became the patrons of the chair and decided to continue supporting the “Remedios Caro Almela” Chair and Prize. A new agreement is established for the 10 next years.
2014. The chair awarded 5 “Remedios Caro Almela” travel scholarships to attend the SfN Congress in Washington, USA, the most important Neuroscience meeting in the world.
2015. For its 15th anniversary, the chair celebrates a scientific conference with the participation of all “Caro Almela Prize” winners as well as IN researchers working in Developmental Neurobiology.
